Endeavour Is Launched

Shuttle Mission 123 PatchAt 2:28, Endeavour left the launch pad for the longest scheduled shuttle mission.  Here’s video of this night time spectacle.

This mission will feature five space walks, and the installation of the first part of the Japanese Kibo lab on the ISS.  Because of the solar panels installed on the ISS on the last shuttle mission, this shuttle can take advantage of the increased power supply to charge its own batteries.
