Tomorrow’s APOD Today

Too Beautiful For Words

Cresent Moon, Dec. 2008

Cresent Moon, Dec. 2008

One of my favorite sites is The Astronomy Picture of the Day site.  It’s my browser’s home page, and I suspect the home page of millions.

But the best picture of 2009, so far has got to be here today, from the Planetary Society’s site.

I’ve lifted and linked to the thumbnail, for your viewing pleasure! Enjoy.

Oh – and have a Happy New Year, all!

PS – This is the start of the International Year of Astronomy. Respect your local astronomer, or the sun won’t come back after the next eclipse.

It would be nice if it were possible to set it as the desktop picture of the day.

    Happy New Year!

Hum! That’s a great idea for an open source app, Becky. I suspect it’s very do-able with KDE 4 on Linux.
