A Mighty Oak Tree Grows

From an ACORN

The Nevada board of elections seemed a little taken aback by these events.

In Nevada, officials seemed surprised by the news that the Dallas Cowboys had moved en masse to the Silver State. The entire starting lineup registered to vote in Nevada, including Tony Romo, their quarterback. However, Secretary of State Ross Miller assured Nevadans that anyone posing as Terrell “TO” Owens would get a big NO if they tried to cast a vote.

But as you can tell, the Secretary of State handled it with aplomb.

This is, apparently, not the total extent of the voter fraud perpetrated over the years by a an organization known as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN. Their voter-registration efforts have resulted in criminal investigations in more than a dozen states. According to Investors Business Daily

[Sen.] Obama paid ACORN, which has endorsed him for president, $800,000 to register new voters, payments his campaign failed to accurately report. (They were disguised in his FEC disclosure as payments to a front group called Citizen Services Inc. for “advance work.”)

Well, that’s interesting.

I can agree with “Capt’n” Ed Morrissey – for a man who’s relatively new to the political scene, the Senator’s 20 year associations with radical preacher Jeremiah Wright, radical Weatherman Bill Ayers and ACORN are rather impressive, long term relationships. At least, they’ve made an impression on me.
